The Institute for Work and Technology is a research organisation of the University of Applied Sciences Gelsenkirchen and a co-operation partner of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Its activities are aiming towards the objective of prosperity and quality of life. The subjects of the institute’s research, development, testing and diffusion are knowledge and innovation.

The organisation of the value added in health industries is the objective of the research group. The main activity is the development of products and services on company, regional and international level.
Regional processes of change are examined in the context of cultural and spatial aspects as well as of knowledge dynamics in innovation processes.
